It’s beaver season once again at the NW Stream Center as the Adopt A Stream Foundation presents a free showing of the Imax movie “Beavers” at 7 p.m. Friday.

The short film, only 31 minutes, follows a family of beavers in the Canadian Rocky Mountains as their babies grow up and learn about their world.

“Everyone will be able to take a virtual swim with beavers and experience the beautiful underwater habitat of one of nature’s greatest engineers,” said Adopt A Stream director Tom Murdoch in a press release.

The stream center’s Sammy the Salmon introduces the movie and talks about the benefits beavers provide for Northwest river wildlife.

Murdoch will answer questions about beavers following the movie and tell stories of his own encounters.

The presentation is free but reservations are required as seating is limited. Call 425-316-8592 to reserve a space. Donations to support the Streamkeeper’s Academy are appreciated.

The NW Stream Center is in McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett.

See Adopt A Stream Foundation’s website, www.streamkeeper.org, for more events.
