Rebecca Romijn and Jon Tenney are co-starring in a spritely new cops-and-robbers series, “King &Maxwell,” based on characters created by David Baldacci.
Premiering at 10 p.m. Monday on TNT, the show stars Tenney as an ex-Secret Service agent whose career hits a deep six when the presidential candidate he’s protecting is assassinated.
Romijn portrays an ex-Olympian who is teamed up with the more cultured Tenney, which makes for some dandy chemo.
Tenney’s DNA should conspire to make him anything but an actor. His dad was a nuclear physicist, his mom a psychiatrist.
His siblings were similarly inclined. “My oldest brother has a degree in physics, but he’s a playwright. My other brother is a composer, my sister’s a dancer and choreographer, so everybody went into the arts,” he said.
‘Rock’ reality
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson headlines TNT’s new contest series, “The Hero,” which seeks the nation’s most valiant hero or heroine.
The show, premiering at 8 p.m. Thursday on TNT, marks the return of Johnson to the tube.
The show searches for human beings who are able to summon up the courage to act as heroes.
“So we have we have some cops. We have some SWAT members. We have some stay-at-home moms. We have some single dads,” Johnson said.
These ordinary people will be put in positions to do extraordinary things and to find the hero within.
