WHAT: Daphne mezereum is a deciduous shrub with extremely fragrant lavender flowers that bloom in late winter to early spring. The flowers are followed by red seeds in June through August. All parts are poisonous.
SUN OR SHADE: This shrub thrives in dappled shade and damp soil.
SIZE: Its mature size is 5 feet by 5 feet. Daphne mezereum needs little or no effort to maintain and pruning should actually be avoided.
