50 years ago (1962)
Diane McIntyre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. McIntyre, Rt. 4 Snohomish, was crowned Everett Junior College homecoming queen at an assembly Friday in the Campus Center. A 1961 graduate of Snohomish High School, she was the queen candidate of Photography Club. Crowning her was Barry Van Ry, president of Associated Students.
Everett High School students began their Thanksgiving season a little early this year and wound up a three-day campaign for Thanksgiving basket funds with enough to provide them for 20 families in the community. Spearheading the efforts were Vicky Bodey, Dave Hall, Steve Juntwait and Larry Fuller.
25 years ago (1987)
Dennis C. Irving, district manager of Walt’s Radiator and Muffler in Everett, said in an advertisement that they used all forms of media in advertising. This included yellow pages, billboards, television, direct mail, radio and on transit. He said The Herald had always been the most consistent performer for their organization.
The French Creek Grange Arts and Crafts Fair and Rummage Sale was this Saturday form 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. a the Grange Hall of the Westwick Road east of Snohomish. Lyenda Pearl was chairing the event.
