Everett had several new junior high school teachers. They were Leora Johannes and Doris Larson, both at North; Sue Homan, Ann Williams and Karen Olney, all at South; and Peter Jensen, Karen Davies, Ray Sundahl and Ross Rieder, all at Evergreen.

North Everett Lions Club held its first fall meeting at the Avenue Cafe. President Frank Woltring outlined the program for the coming months. Harold Irvine, president of South Everett Lions, said the group would again sponsor the Rainbow Bonanza and members of the North Everett club indicated they would assist the promotion. Guest speaker for the evening was John Myers, who discussed office machinery.

Applications for the 1988 Master Birders course were being accepted. Participants would attend nearly 50 hours of lectures at McCollum Park, and give volunteer service to the community. John Munn or Steve Penland had more information for those interested.

The Lynnwood Library had a new offering — more than 100 titles on compact discs. The Edmonds, Snohomish, Marysville and Oak Harbor libraries would be added to the Sno-Isle Regional Library System’s list of CD locations by the end of the year.
