50 years ago (1962)

The “Precisionettes” of Everett, under the direction of the Paddy Fader School of Dance Arts, performed recently at the Singer Sewing Machine Style show at Legion Hall. Members of the dance team were Polly Wright, Dixie Martin, Carol Locke, Dianne Olson and Leanne Scharf.

Snohomish County would get its first bit of the Everett-Tacoma freeway this fall with the construction and paving of about three miles of the route between Martha Lake (164th) and Post (128th) roads.

25 years ago (1987)

Sunday’s 102,000-plus day at the Evergreen State Fair was the second largest single-day attendance count in the fair’s history. Among weekend visitors at the fair were former manager and president, Bob Follis, and former board members Charles Taylor of Monroe.

Dunlap Industrial Hardware at 1028 W. Marine View Drive on the Everett waterfront was having a one-week-only jet tool sale. A band saw was $279, a table saw $379 and a mitre saw $179.
