50 years ago (1962)

“Bud” Cole won a trophy and a spot in the State Junior Chamber commerce junior golf tournament by shooting a 78 at Everett Golf and Country Club yesterday. The 16-year-old was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Cole, 1308 Maryland Ave.

Eight parcels were included in the first auction of homes in the path of the freeway through Everett. They were located at 2918 Pacific, 2608 Highland, 2417 Summit, 2411 Summit, 2327 Summit, 2307 Summit, 2314 Harrison and 2230 Harrison. Payment in full was required at the time of purchase.

25 years ago (1987)

Pamela A. Brown had been hired as the new manager of the Economic Development Council of Snohomish County. Formerly director of governmental relations for the state Board of Community College Education, Brown replaced Mike Deller who was recently named director of the Technology Corridor.

Eric Hopkins of Everett was recently named loan officer at the Marysville branch of InterWest Savings Bank. He previously spent three years as a loan officer for the Lynnwood branch of Pioneer Bank.
