50 years ago (1962)
Craig McLennen, Everett High School assistant football and track coach, was selected as athletic director for the South Everett Youth Center’s summer programs. Board members John Martin, Ervin Rowe, Bill Taylor and Matt Potter had donated their time in refurbishing the youth center, located at 7700 Cascade Drive.
Folks here for the district convention of the Sons of Norway had a better conception of their host city this evening after a tour of Everett and the surrounding area. Lunch at the Yacht Club was followed by a visit to the museum at Frontier Village. The delegates were especially looking forward to tomorrow’s events when Paul Koht, Norway’s ambassador to the United States, would be guest of honor.
25 years ago (1987)
Zonta Club of Everett installed new officers including Miriam Temple, president. Others were Virginia Gullies, Barbara McCarthy, Linda Moe, Melanie Throckmorton, Jeanne Judd, Robin Reinig, Cindy Phillips, Marion Berry, Doris Abrahamsen, Joan Ivanjack and Jean Wrona.
Herbert Faulk was named district manager of Mervyn’s Washington stores. He was responsible for the six outlets including one in Lynnwood and one soon to open in Everett. James Patrick McQullan would direct the new Everett store.
