50 years ago (1962)
Purchase of Model Cleaners, 1414 Hewitt Ave., by Paris Laundry, 2818 Hoyt Ave., was announced by Wallace Hibbert and Rodger Hayes, co-owners. Both locations would be maintained, operated as one firm hereafter.
The Little League team sponsored by H&H Motors crowded into and around a 1960 Mercury convertible on the lot. Coaches were Paul Lane and Bill Dady and the manager was Cliff Young. The players were Morrie Anderson, Bill Casey, Ken Olsen, Don Barker, Gene Beireis, John Casey, Larry Johnson, John Forde, Carrol Lane, Dale Stone, Tom Bagley, Bruce Dady, Paul Fox, Larry Miller and Jim Young.
25 years ago (1987)
Seafirst bank was sponsoring a business rally next month at Everett Pacific Hotel. Speakers include Robert J. Hogan, Lynn MacMillian, Michael J. Buschmohle, Tom Steiner, Dennis L. Fowler and Carol Vipperman. The popular rally was filling up fast and space was limited.
Homeowner covenants were enforced in Mill Creek. The location, size, design, lettering and other particulars of mail or paper delivery boxes were subject to the architectural control committee. All fences, hedges or walls had to have plans approved. No outside television antennas, radio aerials or poles supporting overhead wires were allowed.
