50 years ago (1962)
Serving Everett since 1892, the Lloyd Hunsaker realty firm had opened its first branch office at 6718 Evergreen Way. Howard Moore, a long-time Everett resident and very familiar with the real estate business in south Everett, was manager of the branch office.
Everett High School senior Jim Reid was the winner of a competitive scholarship examination for an eight-year program sponsored by the Navy ROTC. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Reid, 5102 Rucker Ave. He would enroll at the University of Washington in the fall.
25 years ago (1987)
Steve Erickson, Fred Safstrom and Robert Disotell had been promoted at Cascade Savings and Loan Association. Erickson was now vice president and loan control manager. Safstrom was now vice president and manager of secondary marketing. Disotell was promoted to senior vice president and loan division manager.
Ben F. Hanich of Everett was named secretary-treasurer at the annual meeting of shareholders of Washington Physicians Service in March. Washington Physicians Service coordinated the state’s medical bureaus and was the primary contractor for Medicare B claims processing.
