50 years ago (1962)

Gary Buhr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Buhr of Everett, was presented his Eagle Scout award by Dr. Charles B. Mincks, past resident of the Everett Area Council at the annual banquet and Court of Honor held by Troop 6 and Explorer Post 6 in First Congregational Church.

Six new shops held their grand openings today in a new building constructed for Joe K. Hart in the Marysville B&M Shopping Center. The six shops were Willey Furniture, OK Barber Shop, Litehiser and Minnich Realty and Insurance, Dr. Robert G. Beaman, optometrist, Purple Poodle Beauty Salon and American Dry Cleaners.

25 years ago (1987)

Betty Hults, activity director at Colby Manor Nursing Home, wrote a letter to The Herald thanking the many caring people and businesses who took part in the “Tree of Giving,” by making donations and distributing presents.

Mark Rock, Andy Wendell, Craig Iversen and Jeff Pahukoa each captured an individual title to lead Marysville-Pilchuck High School to the championship of the Western Conference AAA Sub-Regional wrestling tournament at Oak Harbor. M-P finished with a team total of 191.5 points.
