You don’t have to buy a plane ticket to Germany to celebrate Oktoberfest. Here’s a list of some of the bratwurst and bier events happening in the area.

Tulalip Resort Casino: Through Oct. 31, the restaurants at Tulalip will serve German fare, including amber ale braised beef brisket with spatzle, pork ribs with red cabbage, sausage and truffle potato fritters, pork schnitzel pops, Bavarian ham sandwiches, duck breast with apples and Thuringer sausage, and various desserts. Carleton Farm’s Brew Fest: Local breweries and music noon to 4 p.m. and again from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 30, 630 Sunnyside Blvd. SE., north Snohomish River Valley. Brew &Cider Festival: Sponsored by the Marysville-Tulalip Chamber of Commerce, this fest is 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 6, at the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St. Get a ticket ($30) online at marysvilletulalipchamber.com. Entertainment by the Margaret Wilder Band.
Octoberfest Bingo, Brats &Beer: East County Senior Center offers up this fundraising event, set for 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the center, 276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe. Cost is $20 for dinner and bingo games. Beer is extra. Call 360-794-6359.
Double Bluff Oktoberfest: The Whidbey Island brewery is hosting its Oktoberfest celebration and second anniversary party on Oct. 27 and 28. There will be five German-style beers on tap, traditional German food and live music. The brewery is at 112 Anthes Ave., Langley.
