The city of Snohomish is throwing it down for the planet, celebrating Earth Day with an all-week scavenger hunt, then holding an all-day Earth Day Celebration on April 21 at the Avenue A Gazebo downtown.
The Earth Day Scavenger Game begins Tuesday and works like this:
Walk the streets of Snohomish looking for Earth Day Friend posters in shop windows. If you find one, stop in and ask for a stamp. If you collect 10 stamps, you can turn them into the Snohomish Visitor Information Center at 1301 First St.
A random drawing will be held and the winner will receive $250 in shopping certificates for shop at participating businesses.
You can pick up game brochures at participating merchants in downtown Snohomish.
The all-day Earth Day Celebration party April 21 will include eco-friendly groups and individuals, educational presentations and pledges for Acts of Green. Blue Earth Day flags will be flying.
Musicians have been invited to play at the party and guests might get to hear some well-known artists from Tim Noah’s Thumbnail Theater or from the Bone Poets Orchestra or folk musician Dana Lyons who is known for his hit “Cows with Guns.”
