Spooky happenings everywhere in Snohomish County

You can do goblins or zombies. Visit a harvest festival or a haunted house.

This year’s Halloween family-fun options are delightfully diverse, from ghoulish to wonky.

For instance, check out the wicked changes at the Forest Park Petting Zoo in Everett. It’s been transformed from a friendly barnyard scene to a “Freak-a-torium,” complete with the usual suspects.

Here’s a list of special Halloween events going on right now. But never fear, there are plenty more to come next week as Halloween nears.

Goblin Splash: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 19, Forest Park Swim Center, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett; Halloween swim party for ages 3 to 15; canned food donation requested for admission; 425-257-8309; www.everettwa.org/parks.

Stumble Grumble 5K Costume and Zombie Walk: noon to 3 p.m. Oct 20 at Snohomish County Courthouse Plaza, 3000 Rockefeller Ave, Everett. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids and free for children ages 5 and younger; proceeds benefit Everett Food Bank; 425-359-2191; stumblegrumble.tumblr.com.

Off-Leash Area Edmonds Halloween Howl: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct 20 at the off-leash area’s “doggie beach,” 498 Admiral Way, Edmonds; free; www.olae.org.

Bastyr University: 5 to 11 p.m. Oct. 19 and 20 in the forest behind the university’s Kenmore campus, 14500 Juanita Drive NE; 425-602-3107; www.bastyr.edu. Trick-or-treating, 5 to 6:45 p.m. for ages 8 and younger; $5 per child. Children’s Carnival, 5:30 to 9 p.m. Haunted Trails, 7 to 11 p.m. for ages 8 and older only; $20 per person, tickets available at www.HauntedTrails.org or at the door after 6:30 p.m.

Harvest Time at the Museum: noon to 4 p.m. Oct. 20 at Skagit County Historical Museum, 501 S. Fourth St.., La Conner; 360-466-3365; www.skagitcounty.net/museum. Cider pressing, popcorn, face-painting and games. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 seniors and children 6 to 12, $8 families of four and free to children under age 6.

Nile Country Club Haunted House: weekends through Oct. 28 and on Halloween, at 6601 244th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace; www.nilehauntedhouse.com. Family fun from 5 to 7 p.m. Fridays through Sundays and “Full Scare” from 7 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 7 to 9 p.m. Sundays; tickets $10 at door and online; wear a costume and receive a free gift at the door

Haunted Farm at Forest Park: 6 to 10 p.m. Oct. 26 through 30 at Forest Park, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett; 425-257-8300, ext. 2. Follow a maze of frights into a “Freak-a-torium” with vampires, zombies and ghouls; ages 8 and older; cost is $8 per person at door, cash only.

Haunted Nightmare Haunted House: 7 to 11 p.m. weekends through Oct. 28 at Craven Farm, 13817 Short School Road, Snohomish. General admission tickets are $10. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at www.hauntednightmare.com.
