Strikeforce martial arts combat comes to Comcast Arena tonight

The Strikeforce Challengers mixed martial arts competition tonight at Comcast Arena pits heavyweight and welterweight fighters against each other, including a Shoreline native and a former ballet dancer.

The big name fighters in this battle include undefeated heavyweight Shane Del Rosario facing off against Lolohea Mahe in the competition’s main event.

Also, the women’s welterweight champ and former dancer Sarah Kaufman goes unbeaten into the ring with international star Roxanne Modafferi, according to the Comcast website.

Caros “The Future” Fodor, 26, is a Shoreline native and a U.S. Marine veteran who was the youngest member of his platoon, at the age of 17, fighting in Iraq and Kuwait.

Fodor will take on Thomas Diagne in a lightweight combat in the cage.

Diagne is a longtime practitioner of San Shou, the Chinese form of kickboxing that uses throwing techniques in addition to striking. Diagne also uses Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, according to the website.

Strikeforce Challengers begins at 8 tonight at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
