Hey, we’re jammin’ at Jetty Island today.

It’s the Urban Surf Jetty Jam where paddleboarders and kiteboarders challenge the wind, the water and each other. Visitors to this beach getaway on Everett’s waterfront can watch from the sandy shores.

There’s free ferry service to and from Jetty Island from the 10th Street boat launch.

Today’s event includes kiteboarding and stand-up paddleboarding competitions, demonstrations, food vendors and free live music on Port Gardner Landing by the band Rootdown. There may be additional demonstrations on Sunday, weather permitting.

Urban Surf Jetty Jam kicks off with races at 9:30 a.m. today with ferries departing for Jetty Island from the 10th Street public boat launch off W. Marine View Drive. For a complete schedule of events, go to tinyurl.com/EvParkEvents.
