If you can get away this weekend, a star and meteor party is at Paradise at Mount Rainier National Park this weekend. It’s timed to match up with the Perseid meteor shower.
The program starts at 8 p.m. There will be information followed by outdoor star gazing. Telescopes will be available.
If the weather is cloudy, the event will move inside with star-finder making and astronomers available to answer questions.
The event is free, although the entry fee to the park is $15 per car.

If you do go down to Mount Rainier, I wrote recently about three hikes that are great to do right now.
