Unless you got up when your paper hit your porch this morning, you may not make it to the Tulalip Casino in time to get a beautiful bargain wedding gown.
But you’ve still got all weekend to bask in the fantasies of being a bride.
The ninth annual Northwest Bridal Showcase will be — for the first time since 2004 — held at the Tulalip Resort Casino today and Sunday.
The bridal showcase features everything necessary to plan a perfect wedding with more than 100 vendors — about 20 more this year — showing everything wedding. Some of the vendors, a few bakers and caterers, also will offer samples.
Vendors include some of the area’s top wedding professionals, such as photographers, florists, disc jockeys, videographers, invitation companies, jewelry representatives, makeup and hair specialists and wedding coordinators.
Also, the popular fashion show continues this year with daily shows at 2 p.m. The fashion show is 45 minutes and includes tuxedos, bridesmaid dresses and other outfits.
The Tulalip Resort, a popular destination spot for weddings and honeymoons, will also hold its own “Wedding Open House” to showcase the resort’s bridal suite, spa and several of its restaurants.
The Northwest Bridal Showcase is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Orca and Chinook ballrooms at Tulalip Resort Spa and Casino, 10200 Quilceda Blvd., Tulalip. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Go to www.nwbridal showcase.com.
The annual dress dash is on again this year. The Northwest Bridal Showcase offers a three-hour new gown sale from local dress shops priced at $199 or less. Hundreds of gowns from various designers will be discounted.
This year’s dash, called Run for the One, will be from 8 to 11 a.m. today.
And yet another wedding show: If you want to mull over even more choices for your wedding, there will be more than 30 vendors at the Everett-Lynnwood Wedding Show at The Zahn Event Center on Saturday.
This is a wedding show and open house because the facility caters to more than weddings and can accommodate schools and businesses, as well as company picnics with a garden area that is 6.5 acres, spokeswoman Laura West said.
The Everett-Lynnwood Wedding Show at the Zahn Event Center is a festive event that will showcase entertainment from local talent, menu and appetizer samplings and a tour of the facility. This is a way for future brides and event managers to meet vendors and learn about the resources available with The Zahn Event Center, West said.
The Everett-Lynnwood Wedding Show at The Zahn Event Center is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at The Manor, 13032 Admiralty Way, Everett. Admission is free. For more information, go to www.manor-events.com.
