The arts fest isn’t the only new event in town. The Everett Firefighters Association, Snohomish County Sports Commission and Experience Everett have teamed up to bring the first-ever Everett Firefighter Combat Challenge to the Port of Everett on August 23rd and 24th. The event attracts hundreds of participants – and thousands of spectators – to demonstrate the profession’s rigors to the public. Firefighters will compete head-to-head in “full bunker gear” as they simulate the physical demands of real-life firefighting. Details here: http://bit.ly/evtfirechallenge
Like airplanes? And wine? We thought so. Check out Future of Flight’s Wine &Wings on Aug. 16 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. You’ll be able to peruse the museum while sampling cuisine from local caterers and restaurants and sipping libations from over 20 wineries. Tickets available here: http://bit.ly/wineandwings
How about some golf for a cause? The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club is hosting a charity golf event, also on Aug. 16, at the Everett Golf and Country Club. Who cares about those back-to-back…to-back double bogies you had on the backside. You just helped fund programs for at-risk kids in the South Everett/Casino Road area. And you got to got to play the super-exlcusive EGCC course. #winning Details here: http://bit.ly/semrgolf
We would be remiss for not mentioning this one, too. The Schack Art Center presents Generations: James Madison Aug. 15 thru Sept. 21. The opening reception is on Aug. 15 from 5-8 p.m. Madison’s ability to share traditional Salish and Tlingit NW Coast Native Art through his awe inspiring pieces should not be missed.
