KENMORE — A 23-year-old Seattle woman driving a small car was killed when it crossed the centerline and collided with an SUV on Highway 522 Tuesday morning in Kenmore.
The King County sheriff’s office says two Bothell residents in the SUV were taken to Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland where they are reported in good condition.
Sgt. Cindi West says the roadway was slushy at the time about 7 a.m., but detectives do not believe the weather was a factor.
The accident restricted traffic through the morning commute.
The Transportation Department says traffic has increased on the highway — as an alternate route between Seattle and the eastside — since tolling began in December on the Highway 520 floating bridge.
