SEATTLE — A 14-year-old boy who was with a group of teens accused of beating a Metro bus driver unconscious in Tukwila has been sentenced in Seattle to a year in juvenile detention.
KOMO Radio reports the term handed down today in Juvenile Court is longer than the standard range of 15 to 36 weeks.
The boy pleaded guilty last week to assault for the attack in January on the 56-year-old driver. The boys were reportedly angry because the driver did not open the rear door.
Two other teens, ages 16 and 17, were accused of breaking bus windows. Juvenile Court earlier ordered community service and supervision for them.
