LYNNWOOD — A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with Wednesday’s stabbing at Martha Lake Park.
A 38-year-old man was seriously injured during what police believe was a drug deal.
Detectives arrested the boy after he reportedly told another person about the stabbing, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The pair met in the park before 2:40 a.m. The 38-year-old told police he didn’t know the suspect.
The stabbing occurred sometime after he agreed to buy marijuana from the suspect, Ireton said. He was stabbed in the chest. The injured man walked into a nearby store on 164th Street SW and told employees what happened.
He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was expected to survive.
The boy was taken into custody for investigation of second-degree assault.
