LYNNWOOD — Two people were hurt Tuesday afternoon when a Community Transit bus struck a sport utility vehicle on Highway 99 in Lynnwood.
The crash happened just before 4:30 p.m., Lynnwood police spokeswoman Lisa Wellington said.
The southbound SUV was making a left turn in the 20400 block of the highway, Community Transit spokesman Martin Munguia said.
“The (northbound) bus couldn’t stop in time and hit the car and knocked it on its side,” he said.
The SUV driver was taken to a Seattle hospital and was expected to survive, Wellington said.
Twenty people were on the bus at the time, Munguia said. One passenger was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Northbound lanes were closed for about an hour. Other details were unavailable Tuesday evening.
