290 lbs of meth: Everett man indicted

SAN FRANCISCO — Two men, including one from Everett, have been indicted in California on charges that they were dealing methamphetamine after nearly 300 pounds of crystal was found at one of their homes.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced 24-year-old Victor Torres-Romero of Ceres, Calif., and 32-year-old Luis Bartolo Madriz-Sandoval of Everett were indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday.

Authorities say they found 290 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, tens of thousands of dollars in cash, and a dismantled meth conversion lab at Torres-Romero’s Northern California house in May after Madriz-Sandoval allegedly delivered the meth there.

Both men face charges of conspiracy to possess and distribute meth and possession and intent to distribute it.

If convicted, both men face 10 years to life in prison and millions of dollars in fines.
