NAMPA, Idaho — Idaho fish and game officials say three Nampa youths have been charged in a trumpeter swan’s poaching death west of Star.
Department of Fish and Game officials say the swan was found last month at the edge of a pond near Bent Lane.
Officials say four youths were involved but charges were filed only against three of them.
The five citations and four warnings include the illegal take of a migratory bird, aid in the commission of a misdemeanor and hunting without a license.
Officials say one of the suspects also poached a great blue heron, resulting in an additional citation for possession of a non-game protected bird.
A shotgun and a .22 caliber rifle were seized as evidence.
