LYNNWOOD — Troopers believe alcohol might have played a role Tuesday in an early morning crash along Highway 99 that sent three people to the hospital.
The collision was reported around 2:30 a.m. about a mile north of Lynnwood, according to a Washington State Patrol crash memo.
One driver was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault and driving under the influence of alcohol. The Auburn woman, 45, received medical treatment before being booked into jail.
An Edmonds woman, 20, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, and a 54-year-old Everett man was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, according to a state patrol memo.
The Auburn woman was was driving the wrong direction a southbound lane of Highway 99 in a white four-door Hyundai Sonata, according to the state patrol memo. The Everett man was driving south in a black Hyundai Elantra in the same lane. The Edmonds woman was a passenger in his car.
The cars crashed head-on. Both cars were described as total losses.
The Auburn woman was booked into jail around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
