The recycling challenge is being led by the county’s Office of Energy and Stainability as well as its Solid Waste and Facilities Management divisions. County employees have long had a recycling program. A recent assessment, however, found a significant amount of paper, cans, bottles and other recyclable materials being thrown in the trash.
