Cascade Valley Hospital and Clinics is seeking vendors for their community Health and Safety Fair, being held Sept. 14 at Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington.
Businesses and nonprofits promoting health, fitness, public safety and emergency preparedness are encouraged to participate.

Everett: Panel on domestic spying
A panel discussion is planned on the National Security Agency’s domestic spying program at 7 p.m. today at the Firewheel Community Coffeehouse, 2727 Colby Ave., Everett.
The panel is expected to include a former NSA employee and a conservative and liberal voice.

Edmonds: ‘Bird Fest’ volunteers sought
Volunteers are needed to help with Puget Sound Bird Fest in Edmonds, an annual celebration of birds and nature.
People who can donate their time for even a couple of hours or longer are needed for the registration table, monitoring speakers, and kids’ activities during the event Sept. 6, 7 and 8.

Lake Stevens: Fire district opening
Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens has an opening for a fire commissioner.
Applicants must live in the fire district and be registered to vote. The position will up for election this fall.
Applicants should hand-deliver a resume and letter of interest by Aug. 7 to the district at 1825 South Lake Stevens Road.
Meetings are held the first and third Thursday mornings of each month.

Marysville: Back-to-school donations to be collected Saturday at Walmart
Toys for Tots is accepting donations of back-to-school supplies to benefit the Marysville School District and surrounding campuses.
Volunteers will collect supplies from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Tulalip Walmart at 8924 34th Ave. NE.
