Clinton: Mayfest set for Saturday
Mayfest 2012 will be 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the Clinton Community Hall, Highway 525 and Humphrey Road, on Whidbey Island.
Enjoy music, dancing and a barbecue supper.
People are encouraged to walk on the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry and walk two blocks up the hill to the community hall for the event.
Tickets are $12 at the door. Children get in for $6. Beer and wine are sold separately.
Proceeds go to the upkeep of Clinton Community Hall, a public assembly hall owned and operated by the nonprofit Clinton Progressive Association.

Everett: Learn signs of Alzheimer’s
The Alzheimer’s Association has scheduled two free workshops today on the topic “Know the 10 Signs: Early Detection Matters.”
The first is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at United Way of Snohomish County, 3120 McDougall Ave., Everett. The other is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Josephine Sunset Home, 9901 272nd Place NW, Stanwood.

Lakewood: Award for superintendent
Lakewood School District Superintendent Dennis Haddock is the recipient of the 2012 Robert J. Handy Most Effective Administrator Award, given by the Washington Association of School Administrators.
The award seeks to recognize outstanding public school administrators in the state, and Haddock received the award for the district’s improvement plan and his work with students, teachers and community.
Monroe: Police plan fundraiser
Monroe police officers and staff will act as waiters, hostesses and table busers on Tuesday at Adam’s Northwest Bistro &Brewery.
They will accept donations as part of the “Tip a Cop” campaign for Special Olympics Washington activities in Snohomish County.
The fundraiser is planned from 5 to 10 p.m. at the restaurant, 104 N Lewis St.
