Bothell: Police get life-saving devices

Every Bothell police patrol car now comes equipped with an automated external defibrillator.

AEDs are medical devices that can shock a heart back into rhythm after a heart attack or similar event.

All of Bothell’s patrol officers are trained to use the equipment, Capt. Denise Langford said. Police often are the first to a scene where someone needs medical aid.

The equipment was purchased with the help of community donations, Langford said. The Bothell Fire Department helped with equipment selection and training.
