Lake Stevens: Cat trapping class offered
The Community Cat Coalition plans to offer a free class on how to trap free-roaming cats, have them altered and then return them to the neighborhood.
The class is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Frontier Village in Lake Stevens.

Mountlake Terrace: Have a cup of coffee and learn city’s news
Community residents and business owners are invited to join city officials for a cup of coffee and hear firsthand what’s happening in the city. The casual event is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Recreation Pavilion Center Court, 5303 228th Street SW.
Participants are encouraged to ask questions, provide input about city services or just listen to the conversation. The informal setting provides people an opportunity to get involved, learn more about city government and its services, and hear what’s happening in Mountlake Terrace.

Stanwood: String band to play benefit
Camano Island’s South End String Band continues its fund-raising efforts Saturday with a concert to benefit the Stanwood Area Historical Society and the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center.
The band for many years has contributed its time and talent for community fundraisers.
The event begins around 6:30 p.m. for socializing, the telling of tall tales and music. The event is at the “Floyd,” 27130 102nd Ave.

Offer ideas about rules for raising chickens
Are you thinking of raising chickens this spring in your back yard? The city of Stanwood is looking for comments on its new regulations for keeping poultry and rabbits within the city limits.
People are encouraged to comment at the Stanwood Planning Commission hearing at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Fire Station 99, 8117 267th St. NW.
Copies of the proposed regulations are available at City Hall or on the city’s website, www.ci.stanwood.wa.us.
