EVERETT — The Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management plans a safety-preparedness event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Snohomish Health District atrium, 3020 Rucker Ave.
“It’s fair-style so people can come in and walk around and gather information,” said Dara Salmon, a county emergency program manager. “We want a whole bunch of people to come.”
The fair is part of National Preparedness Month, she said. There will be free TDAP or “combined Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis” vaccines available for low-income adults and seniors.
Attendees can learn how to use their smartphones in case of a disaster, Salmon said. There will be discussions about how to get home from work or school, and making plans for children and pets.
“We never know when it’s going to happen, and pareparedness takes a lot of forms,” she said.
The fair is a partnership with the health district, the city of Everett and other agencies.
