CHEHALIS — A Lewis County sheriff’s spokesman says a body found in the Chehalis River may be that of a rafter who disappeared last weekend.
KOMO-TV reported that a deputy found the body Thursday evening.
Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Aust said authorities are 99.9 percent sure the man is Daniel Kuhn, who disappeared Saturday while rafting with several friends as part of the Pe Ell River Run.
The 24-year-old from Olympia fell behind his group, and told them he’d meet them downriver. When he didn’t show up by 8 p.m., his friends thought he might have left with others. They didn’t realize he was missing until Monday.
KOMO reported the body was found roughly 2 miles downriver from where Kuhn was last seen.
