Body of apparent drowning victim found in Martha Lake

LYNNWOOD — Crews on Tuesday evening were working to recover a body from Martha Lake after an apparent drowning.

The victim was believed to be a 70-year-old man, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

The man’s family last saw him about 2 p.m., and he said he was going swimming, Ireton said.

Crews were summoned to the lake near Lynnwood just after 4 p.m.

The death was not believed to be suspicious, Ireton said.
