YAKIMA — A small brush fire spread to a house Wednesday in the West Valley area of Yakima
Homeowner Mary Jennings told KIMA that she saw the flames in a nearby field and didn’t think they would reach her house. But winds blew the fire into her house, and by the time firefighters arrived the attic was engulfed in flames.
Neighbors helped Jennings, who is recovering from heart surgery. She wasn’t able to get anything out of the house, but she’s happy both her dogs made it out safely.
