EVERETT — A woman’s windshield was shattered Monday by a stray bullet in south Everett.
It happened just before 4 p.m., near the intersection of Center Road and Eighth Avenue W, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman, 47, had just left The Home Depot, sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said. The woman pulled over and assumed the damage was from a rock.
“She drove home, but her and her husband found a fired bullet in the backseat, so they called 911,” Ireton said.
Investigators have no reason to believe the woman or her family have any connections to criminal activity, Ireton said.
Forensic tests are planned for the bullet.
A 911 caller reported shots fired in that area around that time, but no other information was provided to police.
