Burglar ties up homeowner

MACHIAS — Police on Tuesday were searching for a burglar who reportedly tied up a woman at her home in the Machias area.

The woman, described as elderly, interrupted the burglary about 2 p.m. at her home in the 14800 block of OK Mill Road, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

The man tied the woman to the toilet and left in her silver 2011 Ford Escape. She was able to break free about an hour and later call 911. The woman wasn’t seriously hurt.

The suspect was described as in his 30s, and about 5-foot-7, 170 pounds with dark hair.
