EVERETT — A bedroom fire, believed to have been started when a candle lit a curtain on fire Saturday afternoon, caused an estimated $10,000 in damage.
The fire at a home in the 1100 block of E. Marine View Drive was reported about 3 p.m. Two adults were home at the time. They were checked at the scene for the effects of smoke inhalation but were not taken to the hospital for treatment, said Joe Johnston, battalion chief with the Everett Fire Department.
Although the fire was contained to a bedroom, there was smoke damage throughout the house, he said.
