EVERETT — Bystanders apprehended a 27-year-old man Sunday after he reportedly crashed his car into a tree in Everett.
The collision toppled the tree.
The man was speeding down Holly Drive shortly after 7 p.m., Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. He was heading toward 13th Avenue West when his car went off the road. The early 2000s BMW struck a tree and came to rest on top of it.
The driver reportedly got out and ran.
Neighbors had been outside at the time enjoying the sunny weather, Snell said. Some chased after the driver and held him until police arrived.
”Neighbors indicated this was an ongoing problem of him speeding through the neighborhood,” Snell said.
No one was injured in the collision.
The man was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of driving under the influence, reckless driving, and hit and run.
