Girl Scouts give comfort to animals
Members of Girl Scout Troop 44042 delivered a basket of toys and blankets for the animals at the Everett Animal Shelter. Using money made through cookie sales, the Girl Scouts purchased supplies to make catnip balls, tug toys, and blankets for the cats and dogs.
Arc honored as Employer of the Year
Work Opportunities presented The Arc of Snohomish County with its Community Employment Alliance Non-Profit Employer of the Year award Oct. 5.
The Arc aims to foster respect and access for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, while Work Opportunities aims to find them jobs.

Golf tourney raises $7K for All Aboard
The Snohomish County Bar Association held a golf tournament Aug. 19, and raised $7,702.08 for All Aboard, an Everett nonprofit that organizes programs and activities for adults with special needs.

Transit user honored for commute
Community Transit’s Curb the Congestion Champion of the Quarter was Kevin Crader, of Lake Stevens, who has been riding the bus and vanpooling for 16 years. Crader works at CH2M Hill in Bellevue.
