Theater fundraiser: A silent auction and a concert featuring Elvis and Paul McCartney tribute bands will raise funds for Historic Everett Theatre. The event starts at 7 p.m. today at the theater, 2911 Colby Ave. More info: www.historiceveretttheatre.org.

Street fest: Marysville Street Festival (previously named Homegrown Festival) will showcase local produce, artisans, musicians and artists along Third Street this weekend. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. today, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

Benefit car show: Faith Lutheran Church of Lakewood holds its Hot August Car Show, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. All proceeds go to local food banks. Benefit car wash: Everett Community College nursing students will hold a fundraiser car wash, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Les Schwab, 4805 Evergreen Way in Everett. Monetary donations will help pay for supplies for a December trip to the Dominican Republic to provide care for impoverished families. Supplies also are welcome. Mutt Strut: Dog lovers and their mutts are welcome to celebrate at this free annual event, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Langus Riverfront Park, 400 Smith Island Road near the Everett Animal Shelter. Pancake breakfast: 8 to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at the East County Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe. Pancakes, eggs, ham, sausage, coffee, milk and juice prepared and served by volunteers. Puppy pageant: Help Bruno Sniff Out K9 Nasal Cancer, a fundraiser, is set for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 17 at Willis D. Tucker Park, 6705 Puget Park Drive, Snohomish. PEPSapalooza: This family music festival — featuring caspar babypants, The Not-Its!, Recess Monkey, and Rolie Polie Guacamole — is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 17 at Everett Memorial Stadium. Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS): Several local chapters of this nonprofit weight-loss club meet at different days and times across Snohomish County. Volunteers needed: Clothes For Kids, a Lynnwood nonprofit that provides wardrobes for low-income families, seeks volunteers to help sort clothes, stock shelves, assist shoppers and more. Food bank raffle: The Edmonds Lions Club will start selling $1 tickets for its annual Food Bank Raffle at the Edmonds Summer Market on Aug. 24. Donate blankets: Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County seeks new or very gently used twin blankets and towels for victims of domestic abuse and their children. Camano Center: The Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Road on Camano Island, seeks a few volunteers. The center needs a person or team to build some A-board road signs to use for special events; a front desk volunteer for 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Fridays; volunteers to transport seniors to medical appointments; a volunteer to check in clients for most Wednesday foot clinics; substitute drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors; and volunteers for various duties at upcoming special events. Help residents with dementia: Clare Bridge at Silver Lake in Everett provides Alzheimer’s and dementia care for seniors and seeks volunteers to interact with residents, such as leading a watercolor class, going for a walk, playing board games, performing music, playing Wii games, leading a Bible study and more. Assist cancer patients: The Cancer Resource Center at the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership seeks volunteers to work weekly four-hour shifts meeting with cancer patients and caregivers to provide support. Drivers also are needed to get cancer patients to treatments and appointments. Volunteers use their own vehicles and get mileage reimbursement. Volunteer Chore Services: This program of Catholic Community Services seeks volunteers to assist with household chores and more, enabling elders and adults with disabilities to remain independent in their own homes. Tutor: Everett Community College’s Adult Literacy Center seeks volunteers who can tutor adult learners two or more hours per week in reading, writing, basic math and English as a second language. Volunteers must be patient, have good literacy skills and be sensitive to a variety of learning styles and cultural backgrounds. Tutoring times and locations are flexible. Veterans center needs help: Healing Hearts In Hope Veteran Retreat Center seeks volunteers to help clean trails and organize fundraisers, among other things.
