Help: United Way looking for volunteer projects
The United Way of Snohomish County is looking for volunteers, projects and nonprofits that wish to be part of the 19th annual Days of Caring.
The event is scheduled for Sept. 21 and 22.
The deadline to register projects is Aug. 31. Volunteers have until Sept. 12 to sign up for projects.

Donate: Wash a pet, help CASA
The Camano Animal Shelter Association is hosting a dog wash to raise funds for the shelter.
The dog wash is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 18, at the shelter, 198 Can Ku Road, Camano Island.
The cost is from $8 to $12, depending on the animal’s size. Micro-chipping is available for $25. Other services are available.

Donate: Hospital blood drive Saturday
Valley General Hospital in Monroe is hosting blood drives.
The first is scheduled for Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m.
A second drive is set for Aug. 27, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The mobile donation bus will be in the Valley General Hospital main parking lot, 14701 179th Ave. SE in Monroe.

Attend: Concert aids Willow Place in Marysville
People can enjoy an oldies rock concert and help Willow Place, a recreation program in Marysville that caters to youth and adults with special needs.
The Rocket Alley Bar &Grill and Quilceda Community Services are sponsoring the concert, which is set for 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 11 at the restaurant, 420 N. Olympic Ave. in Arlington.
Suggested donation is $5.

Donate: Food bank needs school supplies
The Sky Valley Food Bank is starting its Supplies 4 Success program to get school supplies for children in need.
The food bank is in need of pens, paper, backpacks, crayons and colored pencils.
Donations can be dropped at the site from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Mondays.
The food bank is located at 233 Sky River Parkway, Monroe.
School supplies are to be distributed during the last two weeks of August.
