GOLD BAR — Search-and-rescue crews recovered the body of a man who fell over Wallace Falls near Gold Bar on Sunday.
The man, 32, of Seattle, had been hiking in the area with family and friends. His wife called 911 around 5 p.m. to report that he had fallen near the middle falls.
The Snohmish County Medical Examiner’s Office said Monday evening that Yuri Natanzon died from blunt force injuries and his death was an accident.
His body as recovered below the falls using SnoHAWK 10, which lowered search crews. Others involved in the response included firefighters from Fire District 26, search-and-rescue volunteers and a park ranger.
The area where the man fell is called Sky Valley Lookout. It is 2.4 miles from the parking lot at Wallace Falls State Park.
An 18-year-old woman died in July after she was swept over the falls while visiting the park with friends. The group reportedly had climbed over the railing to cross the river.
