DARRINGTON — A toddler injured in a shooting in Darrington on Monday night is recovering at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, police said.
“His injuries are not life threatening,” Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
Deputies didn’t know if the boy was struck by a bullet, shrapnel or possibly a piece of plastic or wood, Hover said.
The shooting was reported just before 7 p.m. Monday at a house in the 1100 block of Riddle Street in Darrington.
Adults at the home were looking at a new gun when one of them reportedly pointed the weapon at a TV and pulled the trigger, Hover said. The bullet went through the TV, the wall and into a nearby room where the boy was.
The shooting remains under investigation, Hover said. No arrests have been made.
The case likely will be referred to the Snohomish County Prosecutor’s Office for review once the investigation is complete.
