SPOKANE, Wash. — The owner of a new bar in Spokane says he has no intention of changing the name of a drink that drew protests.
Daiquiri Factory owner Jamie Pendleton tells KXLY-TV the drink Date Grape Koolaid is a play on the words, “It tastes grape.”
But about 100 people demonstrated Saturday night because it sounds like “date rape.” They held signs that said date rape is not a joke and chanted, “Rape is no joke, I hope you go broke.”
