Death in south Everett deemed suspicious

EVERETT — Police on Friday evening were investigating a suspicious death discovered in south Everett.

Neighbors called 911 about 5 p.m. because an apartment’s front door was left open in the 8200 block of Fifth Avenue W., Everett police Sgt. Ryan Dalberg said.

Officers who were called to the scene could see a body inside the apartment, he said. The victim was believed to be an adult woman.

“It’s definitely a suspicious death,” Dalberg said.

As of 6:30 p.m., investigators were waiting for a judge’s permission to conduct a thorough search of the apartment. They also were conferring with prosecutors.

Police were expected to remain on scene for several hours, Dalberg said.

No other details were immediately available Friday evening.
