ARLINGTON — Officials on Tuesday released additional details about a complicated pair of river rescues that took place the night before near Arlington, off Jordan Road.
The initial emergency was reported about 5:15 p.m., Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
Two kayakers had gotten stranded in some debris in the South Fork Stillaguamish River.
While crews were en route, a passerby tried to help the kayakers and also got stranded.
During the rescue operation, another group of five people on inflatable toys also became stranded nearby, Ireton said.
Everyone was pulled to safety. No serious injuries were reported.
