LAKE STEVENS — The state Department of Natural Resource has scheduled an April 4 hearing to share information and seek comments about a proposed land swap at Indian Ridge.
The DNR wants to exchange 74 acres of state trust forestland east of Lake Stevens for about 52 acres of privately owned land of equal value. The trade is intended to consolidate state trust lands, increase land-management efficiency and provide long-term timber revenue to help build public schools.
The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Snohomish County’s Robert Drewel Building, Meeting Room No. 2, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. The Board of Natural Resources will receive a summary of comments before making a decision about the exchange.
DNR also is accepting written comments until 5 p.m. April 14. Send them to exchanges@dnr.wa.gov or: State of Washington, Department of Natural Resources, Conservation, Recreation & Transactions Division, ATTN: Michelle Burbidge Exchange No. 86-095009, PO Box 47014, Olympia, WA 98504-7014.
