BELLEVUE — Bellevue police say a North Bend man has been found dead in the water near a Bellevue boat launch.
Police and firefighters responded to the site Thursday morning after a 911 caller reported a submerged pickup truck offshore. Two fire department divers determined no one was in the vehicle.
A Mercer Island marine patrol dive team searched the slough and found the body of the 54-year-old truck owner in about seven feet of water.
Bellevue police spokeswoman Carla Iafrate says officers learned the man had not shown up Thursday at his Bellevue workplace. His wife also reportedly had texted him but received no reply.
The man was not immediately identified.
Detectives are continuing to investigate.
