EVERETT — A three-vehicle crash that sent a Stanwood woman to the hospital and led to a miles-long backup on I-5 Thursday night involved a driver who did not stop.
The injured woman, 42, was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, the Washington State Patrol reported.
An Everett man, 36, was not injured. He was driving a truck.
The crash occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on northbound I-5 about two miles south of Marysville.
Troopers believe the crash was caused by an unknown driver of a third vehicle.
That driver “made an unsafe lane change” and struck the Stanwood woman’s car, according to a State Patrol memo.
Her car spun, crossed into a third lane and hit the truck and a concrete barrier.
The car causing the crash continued driving north.
The crash remains under investigation. A description of the third vehicle was not immediately available.
